GOOSEBERRY PICKLE

SIMPLE PIQUANT AND SPICY PICKLE RECIPE



INGREDIENTS

✨500 grams Indian Gooseberry (Amla) ✨1 inch Ginger cut into small pieces ✨8-10 green chillies

✨4 tablespoon Peanut oil (or sunflower oil) ✨1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds ✨1 1/2 tablespoon fennel seeds

✨1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder ✨1/2 tablespoon salt ✨1+1 tablespoon red chilli powder

✨2 tablespoon vinegar or 2 tablespoon lemon juice ✨1 1/2 tablespoon mustard seeds ✨1/2 teaspoon asafoetida ✨4-5 squeezed lemon juice

✨1/3 cup Jaggery

✨1/2 tablespoon Black cumin seed



Instructions


🌸For the Gooseberries ⭐Wash the gooseberries thoroughly

⭐Steam the goosberries for 8 minutes. ⭐Cut the gooseberries into pieces after it's cooled. 🌸For the Gravy ⭐Grind the ginger, green chillies and few pieces of steamed gooseberries with a glass of water to make a paste. ⭐Pour the oil into a pan (khadai) and add fengrueek seeds, fennel seeds. ⭐Saute it for a while and add the ginger-chilli paste. ⭐Cook the Gravy on medium flame for 5 minutes. ⭐Mix turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, steamed gooseberries and vinegar (or lemon needed)with the Gravy. Saute the mixture. ⭐Now add mustard seeds, asafoetida,lemon juice,red chilli powder, Jaggery and salt as per taste. ⭐Saute it and keep it in a glass jar for 2 days. ⭐Garnish the pickle with black cumin seeds and let it cool. And your pickle is ready.
